When I was a kid, I begged my dad for money so that I could send to help the baby seals. They sent me a poster for my $5 effort. I guess that was my first charity. So this video of hunters hunting and killing seals really gets to me.

What Makes Us Different?
To be human is to be, what? Not an animal? Why then do humans behave so atrociously to other creatures? I heard recent news about the Navy defying sonar laws that protect whales (the Bush administration has learned, rightly I might add, that it can do whatever it wants. That even those with power will not stand up and stop them.) And, what of these others who run slaughterhouses, meat factories, who butcher without any consciousness of an animal's life? What are we to do? We could AT LEAST eat free range meat. If your grocery doesn't carry it, ask them to. Meanwhile, visit the Humane Society's webpage to learn more about what's going on in your backyard.
