Here's something disturbing: "About 345,000 (police) Tasers have been sold worldwide, according to the manufacturer, and a growing number of police departments have added Tasers to their arsenals or are considering them," says a NY Times editorial of 6/24/08. From the same article: "Amnesty International says Tasers have caused 300 fatalities around the world."
Um, does this make sense? I think I'd rather live in a world where the police could NOT taser ANYone, I don't care what they did, especially since it'll probably be some young activists who get electrified with this police stick.
Remember the kid from the Gainesville, Florida video at the John Kerry speech?
"Don't taser me, Dude! No, dude! No!"
